NORTH TONAWANDA – Colleen Osborn, president of the North Tonawanda School Board, announced Tuesday that she will run this fall for Niagara County legislator in the 9th District.

Osborn, a Democrat, is expected to face Republican incumbent Randy R. Bradt, who is completing his first term. Bradt was unopposed in 2013 as the GOP’s late replacement for Paul B. Wojtaszek when the latter was nominated for State Supreme Court.

Osborn and Bradt were among the five candidates in the Board of Education election in May 2013. Osborn was one of the three winners, while Bradt missed out.

Osborn, a married mother of four, is director of clinical services at First Choice Health in Lockport. “As a working mother, I know the pressures families have as Niagara County’s economy continues to lag behind most others in New York, and how important it is for those in government to make decisions to benefit the whole community and not the narrow special interests that control county government,” she said.

County Democratic Chairman Nicholas J. Forster called Osborn “an outstanding candidate. … She has a wealth of private sector experience as well as an excellent track record representing the taxpayers of North Tonawanda on the Board of Education.”
